running log
After running in my first 5K in September, I decided I really wanted to keep up with this newfound skill. I registered for another 5K run in November and decided to stay on track, even though Oct. tends to be a month full of diversion and fun. To battle diversion and monitor my progress (and as a self control measure), I posted the calendar month on my living room door. I decided to mark each day's run there and hope that the visual would motivate me. As it turns out, I have no self control and no shame.

The weeks clicked by and the weather was perfect for running, but one social opportunity after the other kept popping up. It's no coincedence that Mondays are the days my liver needs a break. Sunday is the new Saturday...or at least while the weather is as perfect as it has been. To be fair, I counted drinking wine with dinner as officially drinking because that would often happen instead of running. Wine with dinner substantially increased my "drank" score. So my goal of running regularly amounted to one, proud 25-minute run.
Note: Today is November 1st. Luckily, I'm too hungover to drink tonight, so maybe I'll go running.
