let them eat swine!
There was a discussion today at work about how the bible says not to eat swine. Many of my coworkers revealed their anti-swine consumption beliefs. These are actual quotes:
“My mom never cooks pork. Never ever. She would never bring that into the house. Growing up, she never bought any pork. Once in a while, we’d have bacon, but that’s it.”
“The Bible says not to eat swine because pigs are a dirty animal. It says it in the Book, so it’s real. That’s not a typo.”
“No, I don’t eat any pork. Once in a great while I have it, but I never buy it.”
So, I'm not trying to knock anyone's religious beliefs, irrational and inconsistent as they may be, but these are the same people who are vocally critical of vegetarianism. Just yesterday, a coworker said that "vegan food is not real food."

I think I'd prefer them to not eat swine because they themselves think it's a salty, fatty, chemical-filled, dead hunk of pig flesh and not because "Jesus said not to do it." Did God really declare that pigs are less holy than the other animals s/he created? That baffles me. Does thou forgiving God redeem us for getting our McBLT on?

God hates pigs. Always has. He even boycotted "Babe" and "Babe 2: Pig in the City," though I could've easily joined him in the picket line for the latter.
Here's proof:

Salt: HAM refers to the hind leg of a pig that has been cured by salting, drying and usually smoking. (porkpeople.com)
Chemicals: Curing is the addition of salt, sodium nitrate (or saltpeter), nitrites and sometimes sugars, seasonings, phosphates and ascorbates to pork for preservation, color development and flavor enhancement. (Wikipedia)
Fat: Ever heard the term "pork fat"? "Bacon grease"? Not to mention pork belly! http://www.sptimes.com/2003/05/11/Columns/Pork_bellies__This_fa.shtml
